Black-Bull-1-1

Kevin and Kristy Housley are the Licensees of the Black Bull Pub in Market Overton, Rutland. They have run the pub since August 2008, but have lived in Rutland since 1994. Since it has been under their management, Kristy and Kevin have been working hard to bring the pub back to life and ensure it provides a social hub for the village and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all new customers of all ages. They serve fantastic home-cooked food, using local ingredients and produce for their entire menu.

Kristy is passionate about puddings! If you are also then she would love you to attend her monthly “Rutland Pudding Club”, where you have a modest main meal and seven puddings, served with lashings of custard or cream. At the end of the meal you can vote for the best pudding and the winning choice will be added to the next months “Specials Board”. The first meeting will be held on the last Friday of every month during 2010.
They have many local “live band” nights and promotional menus – currently a “Beat the Clock” menu, where if you eat between 6 – 7pm then an adult’s meal will cost £7.50 and a child’s meal £3.25. There is also a “Pie and a pint (or a glass of wine) night on Thursday nights. In true traditional Yorkshire style you will get Pie,  creamy mashed potato and mushy peas for £7.50. There is also a great selection of “Real” ales, as mentioned in the Good Beer Guide 2010.
