Thank you Nicholas for featuring Frothys in your July edition of the Stamford Living. I was
very pleased to see Stephen's comments concerning our hot chocolate. I do feel however that
you do not understand or appreciate our concept here at Frothys and as we have just launched
our new summer menu I would love for you to come and sample it for yourself.

As the editor of Stamford Living and essential Living, I am naturally mortified by your comments. I came in to see you to explain why you were not featured in the article on hot chocolates in town, and will do my best to include you in any future features. Also, if you have a story to tell - a new product, refurb or competition, we would be delighted to run it.

Kind regards

Nicholas

I am a partner in Frothys Coffee shop, Ironmonger Street, Stamford and have just received
the Essential Living magazine 2010. I advertised in this magazine along with other cafe's
in Stamford, but find that the additional articles written are very biased. Cafe Black and
Fine Foods seem to dominate as always. There are many small family run businesses (approx
12 coffee shops and tea rooms) that never get mentioned and we, in particular, find that
we are overlooked or ignored, especially in the Stamford Living magazine. I am very
disappointed to find that most articles written are never impartial. Please support all
your small independants!

Hi Nick

You will be pleased to hear that walking around Barrowden is very good training for the Atacama desert.

The total distance Louise covered was about 253 k over 6 days. It took her 45 hrs 30 min, She actually finished 52 out of 145 starters. She was the 5 female to finish. Have a look at the website.

All the best

I work with Local Living on various projects and enjoy the variety that Stamford and the surrounding areas has to offer, both in terms of its people and places.

Here's my website:

And here's a shot of Stamford I took - but can you guess where from?

It's not as it turns out, I decided against using the HDR version and used this one instead which is simply -2 stops.

yep, D*Face is always a winner, pretty good value too.

heres a link to the Goldmark website, good catalogue of what they have, not so easy to find all the street art bits.

If there is anything art related in the area we would love to hear about it, wether it be a show by your favourite artist, a print release you've been trying to get your hands on, or a new website just launched, this is the place to talk about it!

Last weekend i dropped into the Goldmark gallery in Uppingham, having heard that they now have a street art section in their gallery. I wasn't too sure what to expect, as Rutland isnt known for it's large amount of street art, but I have to say i was impressed.

Alongside the huge range of classic and contemporary painting, sculptures, sketches and prints, they had a good range of Urban art prints, from some pretty top notch artists such as D*Face, Nick Walker, Swoon and even a new piece by Elbowtoe, which really caught my eye.

The gallery offer a framing service with all their purchases, so not only can you get very limited editions, you can get them professionally framed for a small cost. If your keen on street art, or just art in general, i would definately check it out.

If you check it out, let me know what you think.

We went for a stroll on Sunday...or was it a walk..or was it even a hike? Does anyone out

I bumped into a friend at the weekend on the barrowden to harringworth path and he had walking
poles with him, which ,made me laugh. was I being fair? Do walking poles have any value
in our modestly contoured terrain?
