Dicken's Hot Gin Punch

As the nights get longer and naturally colder, there is no better way to warm the cockles than with a classic winter warmer cocktail. Cosy winter cocktails automatically stir up thoughts of brandy and port, however this classic gin-based recipe is a
  • 3 teacups gin (Hendricks if possible)
  • 3 teacups Madeira wine
  • 3 cloves • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 6 lemon twists • 1 orange slice
  • 1 fresh pineapple (in chunks)
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • Juice of 2 lemons

Place all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer without boiling for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally.

Add sugar or lemon juice to taste.

Serve in a teapot with gingerbread and garnish cups with orange slice and cloves.
